Evaluating association between thrombocytopenia and hypertension in pregnancy and its fetomaternal outcome

Background: Hypertension in pregnancy is common complication of with incidence 5-15% and associated maternal perinatal mortality morbidity. Platelet count most simple, rapid economical method prediction induced hypertension. The aim objective study was to corelate severity thrombocytopenia its association fetal outcome. Methods: This a case control conducted department obsterics gynecology, SVBP hospital attached LLRM medical college, Meerut, from October 2020 To June 2022. Total number 100 pregnant females out which 50 hypertension as cases without were included study. Observations tabulated, analysed conclusions drawn. Results: Out 43 patients developed preeclampsia thus giving % 21 had mild thrombocytopenia,13 moderate 4 severe thrombocytopenia. mean age amongst 26.73±5.19SD the 28.09±4.83. There very high significant relationship between degree during (at p <0.01). 24% fetuses preterm birth, 8% growth restriction, 2% IUD mortality. mothers DIC,8% post-partum hemorrhage, 6% abruption ,4% pulmonary edema Conclusions: Thrombocytopenia can be life threatening Therefore, platelet used an early, easy, test assess prevent progression eclampsia, HELLP syndrome DIC.
